5 out of 5 stars by TAMARA D on 2008-05-24
We loved this series! The books have short, informative chapters with vocabulary words and tests in each chapter. My children learned even more from these books when I began to have an "open book" test after each chapter. The text is easy to read, and going back over it a second time to find the test answers helped to cement the information they learned. Wonderful!

This workbook is a perfect format for teaching my child how to write answers to questions. I have found this book, coupled with the notes that Sonlight provides, very helpful in teaching this important skill. As a history workbook, I'm finding it the perfect example to my son how writing spills over into other subjects and is a life skill that he needs to master. There is also a great introduction in this book for the student explaining how the book is arranged and the best way to approach it as a student.

What I loved about this workbook was that it was easy for my children to read but also kept them accountable with its questions at the end of each day's reading assignment. Because Sonlight does not "test" its students, this was the next best thing.
