Eighteen-year-old Chris spends a winter with his grandfather in a cabin in Minnesota. In the spring they harvest timber and float it down the Mississippi. Poignant.

This family never thought much about timbering before. Answers questions you never thought about before, like: how would you sleep, yet keep up with your logs? (in the boat), what would you eat and how would you find food ?(you skipped a few meals and didn't complain), etc.
