I had not read this since I was a kid, my 7/8 year old loved it, and would now like a doughnut machine for his birthday ;o)

We enjoyed this very much. We live in Hamilton, OH where the author was born and raised so we were able to go to a museum featuring Robert McCloskey and see a Homer Price Donut Machine.

I remember reading Homer Price when I was a child. After reading this engaging book to my children, my 8 year old went on to read "More Homer Price!" The kids loved the dramatic, and often surprising storylines, and the silly-speaking sherrif.

My husband and I were quite surprised when this title turned out to be the hit of the 2006-2007 school year. Homer Price tells the story of a boy growing up in small town America. The stories are humorous and the illustrations are delightful!
