Your purchase of this product will allow us to donate a portion of the total cost of your order to Sonlight's charities. We are thrilled that, last year, we were able to contribute $0.40 to these organizations for every "The Year of Miss Agnes" we sold. We look forward to doing the same this year!

A teacher from England connects with the hearts and minds of students in a one-room Athabas can school in Alaska in 1948. Includes cross-cultural insight, educational content, self-discovery, & personal growth. Outstanding.

A fabulous story! This was made even better by the hands-on point of view (and photos) we were able to get on the forums from a modern-day Alaskan teacher.

Great story that even a boy can enjoy! I wish all classroom learning experiences could be like this one.

If you don't fall in love with this book, I would be surprised. This story is so very endearing, all of our children ranging in age from 19 down to two highly enjoyed this one.

(From Jessica, age 6 3/4) This book is my favorite because I learned about Alaska and England. It was really cool how the people lived in Alaska.I think you'll want to read this book because it is really interesting and joyful. Well I hope you get to read this wonderfully made book, bye-bye.

This is a great little book - but take note that the little girl calls someone "stupid" and makes mention of not wanting to be married because her husband might get a girlfriend like so-and-so's husband. We just skipped over it.
