I remember when my 2nd grade teacher read this aloud to us in class. I was happy to be reading it this year to my own 2nd grader and kindergartener. The 5 year old would get a little bored and liked to play with clay or something during reading, but my 2nd grader was quite enthralled. Classic story with lots of opportunity for new vocabulary discussions. We pulled a lot of copy-writing from the book for Language Arts as well.

I tried to read this 2 times and we just could not get into the story. My daughter would rather do more math than have me read this to her. My boys had even less interest. I will save the book and perhaps one of my kids will eventually read it. We are skipping this book and reading something else.

My favorite book is Charlotte's Web. It is about three loyal friends: Fern, Wilbur and Charlotte. My favorite part of the book was at the fair. I liked it because Templeton was feasting and Lurvy pretended to take a shower in front of everybody. You might feel sad at the ending, but you'll be happy at the beginning and at the fair part. You should read the book because you'll get to learn how to be a good friend.

This was our daughters first read aloud for Core 1. This is a timeless story of loyalty and friendship. A must read for every family! A+ to Sonlight for selecting this book!

An excellent and enjoyable book. Charlotte's Web is a heartwarming story about friendship and loyalty at all costs. The only mar in the book is Fran's disrepectful speaking to her father in the first chapter. I enjoyed reading this book repeatedly as a child, and my children also enjoy it.
