Mrs. Gladstone is the elderly, crusty president of a chain of shoe stores. Jenna is a gangly, gutsy 16-year-old who sells shoes after school. When Jenna drives Mrs. Gladstone on a cross-country "road trip" to visit several shops in the chain, the two learn a great deal from each other.
Meanwhile, Gladstone's son plans to oust his mother and turn the company into a discounter of low-quality shoes... but not if Jenna can help it. Delightfully touching.

What a great book! I really enjoyed it. The writing was from the point of view of a "responsible" teenager and was very believable. I think this story could be a great movie!

I agree with the reviews already posted - fantastic way to end Core 4! My kids and I are laughing so hard I have a hard time reading - and it makes us thankful for our family and our faith.

This book is full of some wonderful life lessons with a whole lot of comic relief along the way. A wonderful way to wrap up Core 4.

We loved this book in our home. A great way to finish a wonderful Core 4. I have struggled with Alzheimer's as well as alcoholism in my immediate family and this was a wonderful way to introduce a tough subject. Rules of the Road is a very fun read which had my daughter and I laughing all along the way. A must read for all families.
